Power of Persistence (ahem.. especially when nothing seems to be working)

Success expectancy is like being happy for others while secretly wondering why your share of success seems to be MIA.

It's that moment at an industry event or reunion where you suddenly feel unaccomplished and think, "Shouldn't I be further along?"

Now, here's the twist: Success expectancy isn't about being envious or tearing down the winners.

Oh no, it's much sneakier than that.

It's turning the enemy on yourself.

The call is coming from inside the house.

You become your own judge, trapped in a whirlwind of comparison and despair.

But here's the thing, my friend.

Getting caught up in success expectancy can cloud your thinking. You've made someone else's accomplishment all about you. And guess what? You might not even realize you're trapped in this vortex of compare and despair.

When you're busy expecting things to be different, you're not doing the work, strategizing, cleaning up your thoughts, networking, or learning and growing. Judging yourself and constantly should-ing all over your progress keeps you from embracing possibility and unleashing your creative powers.

You see, you can't ignore where you are today.

Understanding your starting point is crucial for growth.

From my years in marketing and coaching countless clients, I've discovered that many people fail because they underestimate the effort and energy required to achieve their goals. They lack clarity on the action needed and often give up too soon, (but, I got up yesterday) thinking their efforts aren't working.

Here's the uncomfortable part: When you're in the hustle, it's tough to see your own progress. But instead of kicking your butt and spiraling into crappy thinking, it's time for a mindset refresh.

Check out my Podcast, The Career Refresh, What to Do When Nothing is Working Out where I reveal how success expectancy might be sneaking into your life. You'll discover the questions to ask yourself to break free from this trap and forge your own path to success.

You can find it on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your content fix.
