Workplace Conflict Resolution
Tension. Arguments. Passive-aggressive comments.
Workplace conflict is inevitable.
85% of employees deal with conflict on some level.
Clients often seek my support in workplace conflict.
(I am talking about run-of-the-mill conflicts here. The daily messiness of humans. If you are in an unsafe, abusive, or toxic situation, seek help and support as you determine the next steps.)
There’s a conflict with a colleague or supervisor.
They think they have to get out.
They feel the stress and begin to seek a new position desperately.
44% of people report losing one hour or more per day in productivity due to stress.
They search the job boards. They update their resume.
They look for solutions outside of themselves.
That’s not where they are going to find the answers.
Sometimes, it is best to find another role.
But finding another role without learning to navigate conflict and understand how to process your emotions won’t change anything.
It is a temporary solution. Wherever you go, there you are.
If we don’t learn how to work within the discomfort of conflict, we miss an opportunity to grow. We stop asking ourselves, “How can this experience serve me?" or "How can I think about this differently?"
Get curious about your thoughts and why you think the way you do.
Then, when the same characters show up (straight out of central casting), this time in different clothing, you can say with confidence, I got this.
You don’t have to love it, but you don’t have to leave either.
When we investigate the connection between our thoughts and actions, we realize that we can change how we feel by changing our thoughts.
Remember, your brain likes things easy. So it repeats thoughts. Even the shitty ones.
It’s not always easy, and it’s probably not overnight. However, learning new tools, getting curious, and practicing mind management can shift your reality without leaving your job.
Mindset work. Life opens up. Healing happens. Careers advance. It's all possible.
If you or your team could use some support working through workplace conflicts, I can help. Schedule a consultation here and together, we'll figure out what's possible.
